Thanks to the efforts of concerned citizens like you, the US. Congress has made considerable progress in recent years in creating policies to help children in developing countries. In the United States, the Assistance for Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children in Developing Countries Act of 2005 was signed into law in November 2005, and Global Action for Children is now leading efforts to help shape the government’s strategy for implementing and monitoring OVC programs; it is also leading efforts to ensure full funding of the OVC Act.

Orphans and vulnerable children face countless challenges every day. View the list of actions to the left to learn more about the many challenges facing children in developing countries and how you can work with policymakers, the media, and people in your own community to bring change to the lives of millions of children.
