GAC & North American Bear announce winners of the Halloween Monsterpiece contest
Washington D.C. - This October, Global Action for Children (founded by a grant from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation) and the North American Bear Company hosted the first annual Halloween Monster drawing contest. For each submission received, North American Bear donated $1.00 to Global Action for Children, an organization that generates awareness, policies and funding so every child has the chance to grow up safe and healthy.
"It’s so exciting to see young people here at home enthusiastically participating in GAC’s efforts to help children grow up safe and healthy worldwide. There were so many great entries and we thank everyone who participated. Also, I want to say how grateful we are to North American Bear for their ongoing partnership for children," said Kathleen Guy, Executive Director of Global Action for Children.
The contest, which ran from September 25th to October 31st, brought in hundreds of submissions from around the world. Two winners were chosen, one voted on by Global Action for Children staff, and the other decided on by Global Action for Children fans. The fan favorite monster design was Fripply, age 9, from California (left). The staff favorite monster sketch was Guababall, age 7 from Maryland (right). Both winners received their very own one-of-a-kind monsterpiece brought to life from their design by a team of trained Monster Makers at the North American Bear Company.
The North American Bear Company MAKE MY OWN MONSTER line was established in 2007 to benefit Global Action for Children. If you are interested in purchasing a plush monster to support Global Action for Children, please visit www.nabear.com.
