Oman: Education is the main pillar for progress in Arab world
Oman (Muscat) - Omani Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said received Arab Education Ministers and those responsible for the regional and international educational organizations attending the 7th conference in Muscat City.
Sayyid Fahd welcomed the guests of the Sultanate and hailed the efforts undertaken by the Arab Education Ministers and the organizations to enhance the educational and cultural cooperation to face the contemporary challenges.
Sayyid Fahd reviewed the educational march in the Sultanate and its importance within the framework of the comprehensive development. He pointed out that education in the Arab world is the main pillar for progress and that can only be achieved through modernization of the programmes and achieving a qualitative educational leap to produce qualified human cadres capable of cooping with the requirements of the age we live in. He also said that investment in education is one of the priorities of all societies especially nations are now measured by the quality of education of their nationals and their ability to meet the requirements to cope with the global advancement.
Conversation during the meeting, covered the major issues that have been discussed by the conference including the status of post basic education in the Arab world , secondary education, means of developing and diversifying its paths , laying a list of quality criteria and reviewing the international expertise in this field in a bid to benefit from them.
The Arab Education Ministers and those responsible for the regional and international educational organizations expressed their great thanks for the efforts undertaken by the Sultanate and its good preparation for the conference which contributed to achieving a number of positive outcomes. They also raised their greetings and appreciation to His majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said and hailed the impressive achievements and progress made by His Majesty for Oman in all walks of life.
