Global Action for Children (GAC) is a nonpartisan, results-oriented organization dedicated to advocating for orphans and vulnerable children in the developing world. Our mission is to increase the level of funding by the governments of wealthy countries for orphans and other vulnerable children in some of the poorest countries of the world.
Launched in September 2003, GAC is independent, collaborative, and results-oriented, dedicated to supporting orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and the communities and families that care for them. GAC’s unique strength lies in the diversity of its coalition partners and allies, including nongovernmental, faith-based, and student organizations, and in its ability to mobilize a broad range of constituencies in support of advocacy for OVC.
GAC works on crucial issues facing children, including those orphaned by AIDS and other diseases, the struggle for universal education, the devastating problem of child sexual abuse, eliminating diseases such as malaria, the crucial issue of child survival, and helping children living in conflict situations.
We are pursuing our objectives with the help of partners on efforts including achieving an AIDS Free Generation and understanding the impacts of HIV/AIDS on children in India.
