GAC Receives Donation from State of Play
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: November 14, 2007
WASHINGTON—Global Action for Children has received a $9000 donation from the cast and crew of the forthcoming film State of Play.
The film, which is still in production, is due to be released in 2008. It will be based on the BBC miniseries of the same name, and the cast will include Edward Norton, Rachel McAdams, Robin Wright Penn, Helen Mirren, and Jason Bateman.
"We are so grateful to everyone associated with State of Play for this generous contribution," said Jennifer Delaney, Executive Director of Global Action for Children. "It shows how much impact people can have when they come together to support an issue."
Global Action for Children, a nonpartisan results-oriented coalition dedicated to advocating for orphans and other vulnerable children in the developing world, was founded in 2003. The organization received a grant of US $1million from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation in 2006. GAC seeks to increase the level of funding from the governments of wealthy countries to orphans and vulnerable children in some of the world’s poorest countries.
